Quantum Yang distils our understanding of solar and smart metering technology and their markets – in depth and in detail. To express this understanding, we chose a company name that combines “quantum” – Albert Einstein’s “packages of energy” – and the Chinese term “yang”, standing for the positive principle of brightness and activity.

Quantum Yang thus represents the vital impetus that drives differentiation. Our goal is to guide you along our joint path to the “sunny side of the hill” (as expressed by the original meaning of our name). Our aim is to provide the aspects and themes that you still need for completeness, and to integrate them seamlessly into your systems to achieve joint success.

“Quantum” comes from the Latin word for a specific amount or dose. In 1905 Albert Einstein discovered that radiation is composed of packets of energy, which he called “quanta”. His courage, imagination and intellect enabled him to defy widespread conventions and, ultimately, to convince the sceptics who opposed him; in 1921 he was belatedly awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics.
His discovery is known today as the law of the photoelectric effect.
This groundbreaking theory is a flagship for an entire industry, and a banner for the unceasing drive to challenge conventional thought, to think outside the box – to make the difference.

“Yang” is a concept from the Chinese philosophy of nature, which expresses activity, energy, light and power – the “sunny side of the hill”.
